Rebuilding Relationships

A full weekend of sewing and wellness. I didn’t achieve my target of finishing two dresses, but I’m about 75% of the way through the first one. I’m finding that it’s taking me a bit of time to get back into my rhythm, and I must be patient with myself while also enjoying the process.

I even went for a full-hour run, which I haven’t done since the 333-mile challenge. My relationship with running became mission-driven and less about enjoying the process of getting my body moving. Much like my approach to fashion work, I was too hard on myself and lost my connection to fitness.

So, as I rose early on Sunday morning, I didn’t worry about speed or distance. I challenged myself to focus on the trees and breathe in the fresh air. The only rule was that I couldn’t stop — no walking this time. The jog could be slow. Building healthy relationships with the things I once enjoyed has been so important.

What is a relationship you desire to nourish with balance and bring into harmony?
