Door Opening

I am minding my schedule commitments to ensure that I am filling my days with activities that align with the path I am building toward—a more authentic version of a life centered around sewing and fashion. I find it so easy to revert back to familiar habits, which may not be intentional, but I am holding the reins on this dream and staying on course.

I’ve started watching videos and reading the sewing manuals for my Singer 201-2 and Featherweight. I’m not sure why it took me so long to make space to create and learn to sew fine garments. All the excuses in the world wouldn’t add up to the regret I would feel if I didn’t show up for the life I could create through sewing. I am the diligent student now, ready and open for this new era.

I will build a solid schedule for fashion, friends, and family. I want to have more fun with this fashion sewing and discovery journey. It doesn’t have to be so commercially serious. I want to design and sew dresses for my own film sets. It’s time to bring my passion for fashion to the surface and get back on track, setting sail for fashion travel adventures.

I have been pulling archive photos from the Bali Fashion Dream days and I am now seeing the elements of design I left behind.

This was one of an original dress design for brand I never fully launched called Elizabeth Grace London. I almost completely forgot about this collection.

I would visit vintage shops around England and source things that would inspire certain elements of the dresses.

This one never made it into production, but now as I look at it was a great shape and style. I must trust in my design instincts more.
